My Story

Magical Crete
Crete is stunning. High mountains cascade dramatically down to a crystal clear sea. The mountains are rugged, wild and desolate, a place for the sure-footed Kri-kri and soaring vultures. The high peaks are snow covered for six months of the year and sun bleached for the remaining six. The foothills are abundant with a wide range of fauna and flora. In Spring, the flowers are a carpet of many colours. The coastline is a mix of sun drenched beaches and dramatic rocky cliffs.
It is this landscape I have been exploring on foot. Through all four seasons I wander, camera in hand. The pictures I take are reference for my art. In evenings, on hot summer afternoons and cold winter days, I use digital tools to bring to life impressions of what I have seen. This is my creative process: Walk, photograph, digital creation, print.
Before Crete, I lived for many years in Asia. I have been told the influence of the Asiatic has found its way into my art. I leave this for you to decide.
The collections I am making are a joy to bring to life and it gives me great pleasure to share them. I do hope that they resonate with you.
